My Bucket List: Life’s Ultimate To-do List

Many people dream of seeing the world or have that one special destination they’ve always wanted to visit. There is nothing more exciting than finally crossing a dream destination off your bucket list, experiencing something extraordinary, or accomplishing something you once thought impossible. What’s on your bucket list?

Whether it’s posing for photos with the Leaning Tower of Pisa, island-hopping in Greece, or strolling down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, you’re certainly not alone in dreaming of unforgettable experiences. We all have dreams, ambitions, and goals—some big, some small—but each has the potential to inspire us to step outside our comfort zones, embrace new opportunities, and explore the world around us.

One of my favorite resources for discovering some of the world’s most extraordinary places is the UNESCO World Heritage List. While iconic landmarks and popular destinations certainly have their appeal, I’ve always been particularly drawn to the road less traveled. I find myself seeking out remote, unconventional destinations that few people have had the opportunity to experience—places where local cultures, traditions, and natural landscapes remain relatively untouched by mass tourism and large-scale development. There’s something incredibly rewarding about venturing beyond the familiar and discovering the unexpected.

Over the years, I have developed a bucket list that continues to grow and evolve. Slowly but surely, I’ve been fortunate enough to cross off quite a few experiences along the way. Some goals are more ambitious than others and may take years of planning, preparation, or determination to accomplish. Others are simple experiences that remind me how much there is to appreciate in everyday life. Regardless of their size, I believe it’s important to always have something to look forward to, work toward, or challenge yourself to achieve.

What I love most about having a bucket list is that it’s never truly finished. Each week, I seem to discover a new destination, dream up another adventure, or find inspiration in an unexpected experience. Sometimes, the most memorable moments aren’t even planned—they happen spontaneously and become experiences I never knew belonged on my list in the first place.

I’m excited to share my personal bucket list, which has grown to more than 400 items and counting! My hope is that it inspires you to create a list of your own, pursue an adventure you’ve been putting off, or challenge yourself to try something new. This list is a work in progress and will continue to evolve as I discover new places, set new goals, and embrace new opportunities.

I also welcome suggestions! Whether it’s an extraordinary destination, a unique cultural experience, an adrenaline-filled adventure, or a personal challenge, I’m always looking for something new to add.

Curious about what I’ve accomplished so far? Check out my COMPLETED BUCKET LIST to explore the adventures, experiences, and milestones I’ve already crossed off.

After all, life isn’t just about the places we go—it’s about the experiences we collect, the people we meet, and the stories we create along the way.

Daaaaamn that’s a hell of a bucket list – and it’s making me feel unhealthy haha! The only sports related one I have is running the Marathon du Médoc in Bordeaux, and that’s only because you can eat cheese and drink wine along the way!

This is a great list….although I’d have to say PLEASE don’t visit North Korea as all the money you spend on a tour there (where you wouldn’t see anything new anyway) would just go to an evil regime that starves its people and denies international aid for civilians (instead, giving food to the military).

Sorry for that last bum note, but I feel VERY strongly about tourism in North Korea.

To end on a happy and inquisitive note, how many languages can you say “hello” in so far? I’ve got hello (English), zdravsveetay (Russian), bonjour (French), ciao (Italian), hola (Spanish), annyeonghaseyo (Korean), nihao (Chinese), aloha (Hawaiian), guten tag (German), merhaba (Turkish) and djien dobry (Polish). So that’s 11 for me!

And YES to the Olympics – I’m kinda bummed out that I’m missing it in my home country (the UK) as it may never happen again during my lifetime. Anyhow, that’s just more of an incentive to go see it in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 😉

Lol…there are probably even more things I really want to do by simply stopped at 350. I would have to say I am not a fan of running long distances (they only reason why It’s on the list) but for Cheese and Wine, I am pretty sure it would have already been crossed off by now!

As for North Korea, I find it politically interesting and more as a unattainable place to go. After reading some case-studies and developing a greater understanding of the DMZ and the human rights violations that are occurring I don’t find Kim Jong Un very fondly. Thanks for the heads up though, I was unaware of this!

And as for my “Hello’s”: Marhaba (Arabic/Turkish), Dobar dan/Zdravo (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian/Macedonian), Ni hao (Chinese), Bonjour (French), Guten Tag (German), Yiasou (Greek), Namaste (Hindi), Ohayou Gozaimasu (Japanese), Buna ziua (Romanian), Hola (Spanish) & Hello (English). I am at 13 so far unless you don’t count the fact that Zdravo is Hello in 4+ different languages!

And I agree, I love London! I visited a few times and saw when they were building the Olympic Stadium. It would be amazing to see it no

Thanks Tom for taking the time to check out my blog! See you on Twitter =)
